Finding a good driving school is not as easy a task as it seems. With so many different schools competing for your business, sifting through the good and the bad is a process that requires a great deal of research. What should this research entail?
First, use the internet to find information on the drivers license process for your home State or Province. When you call or visit the driving school, they should be able to respond to all of your questions with ease. If a school is unable to answer simple questions regarding current driving laws, then I would encourage you to move on to another school.
Secondly, visit the school before you decide to enroll and pay a fee. By doing this, you can take not of what kind of vehicles they are using and the condition that they are in. Also, you will be able to create a picture of how well the office is kept. Is it neat?
Are the sales agents professional? The professionalism of an organization will transcend all the way down into the quality of their services offered. A company that takes care of its employees will almost certainly take care of its clients.
The third and most important part of finding a good driving school is the price. This is not a service where the cheapest price is always the best idea. If you plan on buying driving lessons from the cheapest driving school in town, than you will likely receive, the lowest quality instructors, the lowest quality cars, and the lowest quality driving education.
Most people who are shopping for driving lessons are doing so for their teenage child. The long term safety of a young driver is much more important than saving a few benjamins. Young drivers today have to deal with many distractions including cell phone use while driving, satellite radio, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and a media culture that promotes the message of bigger, better and faster. Not exactly the message we should be passing on to our children.
Teen driver education should be an issue that is given more importance. The more prepared our youth are when they get on the road, the more we can minimize the loss of young life and reduce social cost.
